A 30 yard dumpster makes a nice cabinet, might be a little large and heavy but that's pretty much where it belongs.

rastan was a great game. I think hands down the best walking side scroller hack and slash.. but I feel like black tiger is a better game is so many aspects.
Yeah, Rastan is one of those games with nostalgic value. Black Tiger is definitely a good game as well. The successor to Rastan was Nastar Warrior. Now that was a crappy game. Haha.
Yes Nastar was horrible, but I like to think of Cadash as the sequel to Rastan. Anyone played Blade Warriors: Rastan Saga III?
RASTAN!!!
It seems like such a simple side-scroller...a copy of so many other game...almost generic.
That said I can't get enough of it. I think Rastan is the game I played the most of a CAX. It's such an awesome game. I need to get one one somehow.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think mine is an original kit in a dynamo(?) cabinet - no side art, but I don't think it was ever another game....

Back on point though, I prefer the cabinets for rastan which display the most amount of artwork on the control panel.
It probably was another game. That cpo isn't a Rastan cpo.
....that's weird, I've owned this machine for close to 2 years now and never even noticed or thought about the CPO! It has the Taito logo on front - I knew the colors didn't seem right but never thought about it.
I've looked at pics online of the correct ones and it never occurred to me, woa...
I spent a few minutes looking through the database for other Taito games around the same time. I figured probably the year before and then maybe someone swapped it out. Blammo - it was a 1986 Alcon CPO!! I suppose maybe the CPO was mismatched from the start, but unlikely.
Here's the original CPO pic I found:
