what do you play? of course some people have TVs on top of games to display the game to spectators (ie laserdisc games), some people have wall/corner TVs playing music videos... what do you have?

personally, right now I have a dvd loop of 80's music videos playing on a 15" or so tv in the corner... and a dvd loop of starcade episodes i swap in some times

i'm planning the next version of the video loop to have some game commercials, news clips from the golden era, etc... but only a handful mixed throughout the now 3 hours of music videos

i may add or replace it with a larger extra crt tv i have but i need to mount it to the wall somehow... i bet this thing got as much action at the party last month as any of the games (except maybe pinball)... three people on stools watching that tiny thing a few times i made my rounds :)
its in the top left in the picture:

My NES System. I need to get some new games for it. I like your idea. Too bad they didn't have an all retro channel on satellite networks. Something that had 80's and 90's cartoons, music videos, tv shows and commercials.

MST3K, Creepy Kofy Movie Time on Saturdays (Bay Area show), Elivira following CKMT before she was taken off, Red Dwarf, etc.

I usually have a playlist going, so whatever I show is on mute. This lends itself nicely to having trippy stop motion animation on in the background. Quay brothers, jiri barta, Jan svankmajer, etc

You could always make a YouTube playlist of classic 80's stuff and run that on a continuous loop. Best part is we could all contribute and share :)

My plasma tv in the arcade runs off of my upstairs system. I generally run pandora radio, movies, or live concert dvds when the arcade is in use.

If I'm not playing consoles on it I'm playing Pandora radio. Once in a while I play 80-90s Metal videos or the murder sceenes of various gore flicks. I made the gore sceene vid for a Halloween party and still throw it on once in a while.

Sometimes on the projector we'll show our DVD's of 80's music videos.

The TV that is flashing in the video is an Atari Video Music box connected to either the VHS, DVD, or Rockola juke box. It's really colorful, but it's washed out looking in the video.

We can also play our Atari 5200, 7800, or Colecovision on the TV too.

At my last arcade party, I borrowed an LCD projector and looped Tron on the wall (the original, of course). I was baffled by the number of people who hadn't seen it. I'm still baffled, really. How could you not see Tron?

My local ALADIN'S would pay pop and rock videos. :D

I remember going to a mall arcade in Florida back in the 80's that had a video juke box...thought that was pretty cool, had never seen one before. I wonder how that worked...maybe laser disks? It was at least 1986, because I remember seeing Weird Al's "Living With a Hernia" video on it (which I hadn't seen before) and that came out in late 1986 (according to wikipedia) Anyone else ever see one of those at an arcade?
