I am close to completing my small cabinet restore for Street Fighter 2 Championship Edition. I like the game for Vintage reasons but I feel I might get bored with it down the line.

I was thinking if I should buy a Hyper Fighting board and keep it aside till I get bored with CE or should I get a Jamma 18 in 1 with the Alphas and SF2 Anniversary editions in there. Comes with Night Stalkers and Dark Stalkers as well.

Its a big jump from buying the HF used to a Jamma board worth 240 bones.

I was thinking going Mame down the line but I play that on my computer once in a while.

Should I stay Vintage and go with Hyper Fighting or buy up an 18 in 1 board before they are all sold out everywhere?

Thanks

Unless you have to have a dedicated cab for the game, I would just get an 18 - 1. Do those play well? Or just buy the SF games you really want, and go from there.

I would probably just get a CPS-2 kick harness and get the CPS-2, Naomi, games you want. They all use the same button layout and wiring.

Buy the Turbo Street Fighter II Champion Edition rom upgrade kit from me to convert your Championship Edition pcb to SF Hyper Fighting. You can still swap back to Championship Edition if you want. It's only 3 rom chips you replace (and it's cheaper than buying another SF 2 Turbo pcb). I have these in the official CAPCOM box they were sold in. And I have a Turbo marqee too so you can "upgrade" the look of the cab.

Also keep in mind you can play any horizontal JAMMA pcb in that cab. You don't have to restrict it to just fighting games. But definitley get some CPS2 games to swap in it like SF Alpha 3 or Marvel vs. Capcom.

I heard the xxx-in-1 boards might not be 100% accurate emulations so I'm not sure how good they actually are.

Well I will do the Hyper Fighting upgrade. It's probably the version I played 2nd Most besides the original SF.

Thanks Xarcade, sent you a PM on the chips.
