What do i need to upgrade to blitz 2000 gold/nba showtime gold???

I have Blitz 2000 Gold arcade machine. I want to upgrade to BLITZ 2000 GOLD/NBA SHOWTIME GOLD. What all do I need? Any Idea where I can order it from?

More info

I know nothing about these machines but it came with an upgrade kit manual that looks like what used to upgrade to blitz 2000 gold. it says it updates the boot ROM PIC and hard disk drive and for use with Seattle CPU Board if this helps...All I need to know is what I need to upgrade this machine to Blitz 2000 gold/NBA Showtime gold..

You need a new boardset for the combo. You can get Showtime kit and swap the chips/drive to play blitz or showtime.

Thanks Kevin. I see there are things called Blitz 2000 Gold/NBA Showtime gold 3.0 upgrade kits for sale. Is this what you mean by a board kit? They run around $150. Does that sound like what I would need?

Seattle does blitz.

Vegas does Sportstation (blitz/showtime). Don't know why I said showtime on seattle :)

Idea: you can get ToplessZ Mace for your seattle PCB if you are going for the Vegas PCB for sportstation.

as teckkev has pointed out, you replace the entire boardset, yes. nothing from Blitz 2000 Gold gets reused.

if I'm not mistaken, you can get I wanna say a Gauntlet Dark Legacy (not Legends I don't think, that one might be a Seattle) and swap the video or sound boards (forget which) with the Blitz/Showtime ones and make your own boardset out of those. but on top of that you'd need a security rom/romset/hard drive to run it. you're talking a lot of coin for something like that. ToplessZ is actually going on hiatus for a few months, so if you're doing anything down that road you're gonna have to act quick. ToplessZ has a thread somewhere on here about converting a Gauntlet DL to other games, run a Search on it.

I personally got mine on ebay. they come up periodically. mine was had for $130 before shipping, so it won't murder your wallet if you look in the right place. :)

I got lucky mine was a 3.0 set, otherwise after ToplessZ's gone, you're gonna have to put yourself in the hands of the ebay people.

good luck, it's an awesome game, the little kids seem to love it in my family's arcade.

Vegas boardset value flucuates more than the stock market. You can get the PCB as Mech stated for $125 ish to $275. Just depends on Ebay how much of a demand is out there during the auction. Do note that when you buy a Vegas boardset the +5 on the edge connector are burned up. That is to be expected.

Showtime

I might be getting one of these with a bad cab this week. I will test it and give you prices if you are interested.

yes i am interested. money is not really an issue I just want to get whatever I need to be able to play both games in the same cabinet

any reason why this happens? that was an area of concern for me when bidding, but it was advertised as working so if it didn't work I could just shove it back in their face, but it worked great. lol

speaking of +5, if I remember correctly I think the Vegas boardsets are EXTREMELY finnicky about the +5 setting. mine hasn't given me any problems with the way I had it set for my Blitz 2000 though (maybe 5.20, to allot for the hard drive) ... I think the hard drives won't fire up if the voltage isn't tuned just right.

teckkev, any suggestions here? :)

From my understanding, +5 getting charred is from poor ground. I'm sure channelmanic or someone else can give a definite answer :)
