What did you think of the Wal-Mart video game clearance?

I went there on Tuesday the 18th, not knowing about the clearance, just saw a bin with $1.00 marked on some PS2, PS3, Wii and 360 games. I picked up a bunch of games that day. I didn't learn about the specific titles that were $1 until yesterday. I went back yesterday and picked up about a dozen more items, like the Monster Hunter Tri with Classic Controller for Wii and the DJ Hero controller for a buck. But the racks were pretty much picked clean, I guess I missed out on most of the higher quality titles. This is pretty much what I got for $50.00 CAN.

Holy crap... those were all $1 each?

I wanna head to Wal-Mart tonight... Sucks that I will have to wait until my wife is off work though... she has the only running vehicle at the moment.

That is fantastic. I've never seen a sale on that kind of stuff before. You say you got a wii classic controller for $1? That is so cool.

Wait what? I haven't been in awhile here...maybe I should.

Edit: I ran right out, must be just your Walmart, NOTHING of the sort at mine.

Most of the stuff I bought wasn't marked for clearance. I had to do alittle bit of price checking myself with the price scaner stations. It's weird 'cause I saw the list of titles, but I have some that arn't even on that list. It was like take a $69 item, scan it and hope it would show up at $1. Another weird thing is I went to another walmart today in a different town, they had some of the games on the list that was suppose to be $1 but they wasn't. Kind of a crap shoot, hit of miss.

I went again today, none of those items are $1, I had an associate even scan a few things for me.
She said there were some $1 items, but they were all PS2 games and some DS Stylus' and cases. No 360, PS3 or Wii stuff was $1 at any point she told me.

The list on RFD is enormous...and mostly BS I would assume. There are games on there that would only be $1 on a pricing error they're so new.

I think this is just a Canada thing. After I read the first post, I checked Walmart.com and came up with nothing. After Googling a bit, I've only seen it mentioned on a few Canadian deals forums like redflagdeals and smartcanucks. Damn, I was ready to hop in the car and speed off to my nearest Wally World, too.

It's store independent too, which is strange because I know for a fact that prices are set by Head Office.
That also requires the people at the store actually make the price changes though...

I was at Wal-Mart like 2 weeks ago and got Castlevania Judgment for the Wii for $1.00. Tonight I just got back and picked up Ninja Blade for the 360 for $1.00. Not bad two more new games for a total of $2.10 including tax. Funny i'm still finding them popping up, i'll report any more $1 findings here.

I'm going to have to check out a Walmart. I never think to buy games there... or anything else for that matter. Maybe if I am lucky it can be my "going out buy" since I'm switching collecting hobby priorities ONCE AGAIN lol.

Local WalMart here has no bargains at all... they have a bin of 8 dollar games, but it's full of used copies of Big Bumpin, Pocketbike Racer, and Sneak King...

Why does a WalMart even have those?

I went to one yesterday and their bargain bin was $10. They had a bunch of weird titles I've never seen before, but it seems that they had pre-used games there too. I never knew Walmart to have a game trade in option at all, so they may have been warehouse buys? I picked up the Neo Geo SNK arcade collection anyways.

Why does a WalMart even have those?

No idea why, other than they were mixed in with a box of other used games for the PS2 and Nintendo DS... Wonder if they bought out GameStop's overstock (or even bought out GameCrazy's stock when they went under)
No idea why they think that they're worth 8 bucks a pop either (hell even Gamestop has em for $0.99-$1.99)
