What did you do to your arcade today?

Seems like I'm always playing around changing one thing or another to keep the arcade "fresh". I'm sure I'm not the only one...

Replaced a TV in the bedroom so I got the great idea to move the old one to the basement! Plug it right into the gameroom stereo. It's as much fun as MTV in the 80s! :)

Pulled and tested a crap ton of monitors out of my shed because I had someone with pretty high standards turning one in for an exchange and the burn free TM 202G I originally pulled to fix up for him ended up needing a flyback after I capped it and I didn't want to make him wait any longer. Finally just pulled one out of one of my personal machines.

dl, that is a great setup you have there :) Better be careful or a whole slew of people may look for you after the auction :)

Myself, I just pulled out the red tent I am trying to sell and made sure everything on it works and brushed it off a bit.. moved some of my games around and continue to remove the gunk from my most recent purchase, a Blast City cab.

Also kicking myself because I missed the postman who was delivering my cables to wire up the Blast's control panel, so I have to make a trip tomorrow morning to the post office.

Replaced the plunger in Target Alpha and played a few games. Took trash out of the garage in the ongoing effort to clean it up and convert it into the arcade. Worked for 12 hours and kept checking the various boards for entertainment--much as I'm doing now!

A candy machine for the gameroom would be cool, or maybe one of the old Lance machines. I love those old machines.

I like it. I got it at a garage sale together with a working Pachinko machine for $30. Now that I finally got around to filling it I can't let my daughter figure out what it's for or my quarter jar will always be empty and she will never eat a decent meal again LOL.

game room

Did a regular all around cleaning and killed spiders.

what is the attraction to spiders in the game room? i dont kill spiders, so i find myself picking them up and taking them back out to the woods. yes i dusted and mopped and vacuumed the game room.
then i popped a quarter and played some starwars!

I'm having a garage sale this weekend, and I have a Ms Pac in my garage right now - just finished repairing it for the pizzeria, and haven't brought it back yet. So I put a sign on it, "not for sale, but please enjoy a game."

This guy comes up and plays a good game of Ms Pac, puts up a good score. He buys a little mini sega genesis emulator I bought last Christmas. Figuring he was hobby-worthy material, I ask him if he's interested in seeing my game room. He said, "sure, why not?"

I walked him into the Little Shop of Quarters, turned on all the games & black lights, and his eyes lit up like a kid in a candy store. He asked me, "do you have the Simpsons?"

I ran over to my MAME cab and fired up the Simpsons. His jaw hit the floor.

He spent about a 1/2 hour playing games and I asked him for his phone number. I told him the next time I have an arcade gathering, I'd give him a call. He left happy, I left having made a new friend.

Awesome!

I guess technically it was yesterday, but I added three games to the "arcade". I put it in quotes because it's not really an arcade yet, but it's got promise!

Hmm...now what to do today...

I do feel a little bad killing them, but I just want them out or gone. Last night I already found a spiderweb and a spider that wasn't there before on the wall and a decapitated wolf spider (or brown recluse... hopefully not) in the Galaxian. Last week, I found a spiderweb in the marquee box that wasn't there the week before, but there was no spider to be found. Time to get a bug bomb. Keep in mind all the gameroom/arcade is, is just a decorated secondary garage with arcade games and some openings for bugs...

cleaning the gr

Just bought "Commando" from a fellow member here to add to the arcade. Gotta get it shipped as well as my new "The Addams Family" Pin. :)
