It does look like one of those old Midway cabs. Have you tried opening it and looking for a label plate? Pics of the inside can often help with identifying a converted cab as well...
looks like a home made cabinet. It's not a Bally cab, that's for sure.
Its not homemade I can easily tell you that. Its also not a rock-ola, from the pictures I've seen the coin door is moved and the glass isn't tinted and some other differences.
Actually I just found evidence that this cab used to be vertical:
I'm thinking its atleast a bit custom, theres a wooden coin box(Where the coins go), theres a fan on the back thats definately not factory put on. I guess its 48 in 1 time? Makes me a bit sad that I don't own a dedicated cab..Why do you think it isn't homemade? Homemade doesn't imply crappy workmanship or anything like that. I think the correct term would be "custom" anyway. Might have been built by a nice cabinet shop that specialized in arcade cabinets. It looks pretty well put together in the pictures. If there is no CP's on the ends (like a vertical machine) and the coin door would prevent them on one side, that is kind of odd and does lend itself to being custom. If there is anything you can see that makes you believe it was a volume manufactured cabinet, point it out to us. It would help identify it. I'm not seeing anything that really helps. Is there anything on the underside of the top? Midway put metal plates on some of the games.

Well I do like dig-dug,pacman, galaga etc. That depends on what games you like to play. The 48 in 1 is vertical so you will have to rotate the monitor. In it's current configuration you can play many horizontal Jamma games.
