I have a picture tube out of a Time Crisis 2. It is a Samsung tube type A68QBT892X02 Anyone know what kind of chassis matches up with this tube?

Thanks
Rich

Lots of different monitors could have used that tube. That's like saying "what car works with this tire?" You'll need to look at the frame of the monitor, look for some kind of model number. A picture of the back of the monitor will help, as it's easy for most of us to recognize the monitor frames.

Another thing you can do is measure the resistance of the yoke windings. Once we know the horizontal and vertical winding resistance, we can probably point you to a chassis that will work. The yoke is much more specific to a particular chassis than the tube is. The tubes are very, very interchangeable.

Ok, I measured the Yoke tonight and I have 1.4 Ohms for horizontal and 8.2 Ohms for the Vertical.
Does that help anyone with identifying what chassis should go with this tube?

Thanks

It doesn't really have the typical mounting setup. The tube mounts by it's ears to the game and the chassis is screwed into the wood below.

Just call Alvaamusements.com and give them the measurements. They will determine what chassis you need and quote you a shipped price.
Doesn't matter how it mounts as the Wei-Ya chassis' have a plastic mounting plate under them anyway.

I'd be careful buying one of these chassis for this game. Some Namco games (especially the Time Crisis series) are well known for only working with a few select monitors. K7400's and U2000's worked perfectly in TC2 but D9200's had a small sync rip at the top of the screen and Kortek's had a huge rip from about the middle of the screen up. I've never been able to get anything to work in a TC3 other then the factory Sanwa monitor, same goes for TC4.

If I had to guess I'd say that you need to find a U2000 or K7400 but without pictures its anyone's guess.

BTW, on TC1 Namco changed a resistor in the sync section on the monitor chassis. They claim it was for the gun but I think it was to tie us to the monitor they sold at the time. Eventually the resistor was figured out so we were able to buy std U2000's and put them in the game.

Thanks, This game had two different monitors in it. One was too small and the other has a 7400 looking chassis hooked up to this tube but the picture isn't right. The 7400 chassis has most of the adjustments (width, height, screen) maxed out and I suspect that it isn't the right chassis for the tube.

I think I should have asked is this tube compatible with a 7400 chassis. The tube is either a 28 or 29" tube.

Thanks

The "A68" in the tube part number means that its 27" in the US but a 29" in Japan.

If you can post a pic of the yoke and the back of the CRT I'm sure some one here can figure out what kind of chassis you need.
