Picked up a new cab last night Dynamo H-5 not sure what model chassis it is yet but the picture looks great except for these horizontal grey lines that scroll vertically pretty randomly. the lines are straight and roll fast and some times very slowly.

my first thought after trying to adjust it was it might be a grounding issue, so I ran a wire from the Earth ground off the power supply to the chassis, but that didn't do anything. the power supply I'm using is old and came out of my TMNT cab when I first got it so I'm not too confident in that power supply.

the other obvious thing would be to re-cap the chassis, and look for bad solder joints but the chassis looks brand new. there's a tag on it that Playdium (arcade and dealer in toronto) had it serviced just in July 09. so I'm thinking I should try replacing the power supply? anything else I should look at?

Since you've already tried adding the ground to the frame:

1) rotate the anode cup so that the anode wire is farther away from the yoke.

2) make sure that your chassis requires (or doesn't require) both sync wires to be connected

3) Check to see if you have a ground prong on your plug

4) Check to see if you're getting interference from something else plugged into the same circuit (refrigerator, oscillating fan, etc)...

Fixed it. It was the power supply. I had a brand new power supply in my TMNT cab so I pulled it out to test it on this Dynamo cab. Picture was perfect. so I put the old power supply back into the TMNT cab where it came from and for some reason it works perfect. I guess whatever chassis is in my Dynamo cab didn't like that old power supply but the k7000 in the TMNT has no problem with it.
