lame question, and I couldn't find the answer anywhere in the forum.... I have a Crazy Kong PBC and since it is non-jamma, would the power supply and set up work for it? - and would I be able to pop that bad boy it into one of my Nintendo cabs and plug 'n play? If not, what set up would I need :)

I don't have a crazy kong but I imagine like any other game it has a specific pin out and certain pins on the boards edge connector need to get certain voltages or be connected to the right switch to function correctly. So you need to get the pin out for the board you have. May be wrong but I don't think it will plug and play in a standard nintendo cab. My guess is that it can be wired to run off a switching power supply but I may be wrong.

This may be the pin out info you need but I'm not sure. Please keep in mind that there were many DK bootlegs so be sure which one you have and that it is actually a crazy kong and not some other bootleg. I'm also not certain that crazy kong was only made by one source so it's even possible that there is more than one pin out for a crazy kong. I'm not certain of this. I would just hate to have you damage a board by hooking it up incorrectly.

maybe snap a pic of the board and post it here. I know there are a few members here that are fans of the bootleg DK stuff and crazy kong in particular. I'd bet one of them will know the manufacturer and probably pin out from looking at the board.

I knew I should have posted a pic of the board instead of the damn monkey! I'll have to find it (garage is getting re-organized) and get some pics up. It's starting to make more sense now, perhaps I should put in one of my jamma cabs (that already has a switching power supply) and save my self the issues with dealing with the ninty power supply and monitor ;)

Yeah, definitely post a pic of the PCB. I know there's at least 2 common pinouts (not counting the Galaxian and Scramble conversions), one is Falcon (36 pin), the other is Orca (44 pin). The one on the crazykong.com site linked earlier in the thread is the Orca. If it's a big single board with 2 separate 36 pin edge connectors (one on the end, one on the side), it'll be a Falcon pinout. You can run them off of a switcher, that's how I use mine :) They don't use anything odd, just +5 and +12V. I built a harness to fit the Falcon pinout and used a couple molex plugs to go to a monitor and control panel. You can also get a JAMMA Falcon adapter, Mark Spaeth made one. I actually have one of these and it works good, but the 12V in my cab harness doesn't work, so the sound doesn't work (gotta get around to fixing that one of these days ;) )

I need the Falcon pinout to test one. I used to have a link, but not sure anymore. Anyone have it?

Note, if you have one of the Falcon style boards with 2 edge connectors, make sure you put it on right. They're oriented 180 degrees from each other. So if you have your connector with one side labeled "parts side", it'll actually go on the solder side on one of the edge connectors. The easiest way I verify is to look at the grounds, since the last 3 pins (4 on one side) are tied together.

looks like its a falcon, fck01, blue pcb with falcon roms. I also found the connection notes for "CROG KONG" in the bottom of the back of the box I had it stored in.

OK, that'll be a regular Falcon Crazy Kong part 2. Just make sure when you plug in your harness, you pay attention to the orientation when you plug it into. I can't imagine putting 12V on a player input (which would happen if you plug it in backwards) would be good ;) Looks like the wiring diagram on your sheet is correct, but verify it against the link I posted. That one should be 100% correct.
