Someone is selling a Fabtek Toki locally and I have never seen it in this type of cabinet. It is a bit of an odd cabinet, with the silver t-molding and all. I was wondering if anyone knew what the cabinet held originally?

Stern cabinets also make some of the best conversions. They are just about the only classic era cabinet you can toss a game kit into and not have to hear "Poor Mario", "Poor Pac-Man", etc everytime someone sees one.

What about the poor Berzerks and poor Frenzys? And poor Pooyans? Won't somebody think of the Sterns?

Yeah, but Stern mostly produced a lot of B-List stuff in very high numbers. I haven't heard about a lot of reverse conversions of stern games. Heck, just recently I put a 19 in 1 in a Cliff Hanger cabinet (one of the left over ones that they sold off when they closed the video division).

Did you pick that cab up? The guy's been trying to sell it for a few weeks now. I made an offer, but the seller seemed to want a little more then I could afford at the time.

Hell I even offered to drill out the lock so he can keep the quarters inside..

I didn't stop in to check it out even thou I ended up going right past it that same day. I didn't want to insult the guy with a lowball offer since I was on the low end of broke.

As far as what it was.. well I have no clue..

No I didn't pick it up, I was just debating on picking it up if it were originally a decent game and taking it back to it's glory days. Knowing my luck it was something pre-JAMMA converted to JAMMA and I would have to rewire it like I am going through with my Gauntlet that was converted to a JAMMA. If it is a Stern like everyone agrees on, it probably wasn't a great game to begin with, but I have had a great time taking my Gauntlet back to it's former self.

This. It wasn't the best Stern game ever, Berzerk, as it doesn't have the front pull out door. If it was, I'd say pick it up. Otherwise, most of these Sterns have been converted years ago. So unless you need another JAMMA cab, skip it.
