I'm thinking about picking up this MKII conversion and I've never seen this cab before. Anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Also is the tacky speaker grill original?

2-player Gauntlet also came in that cab (though the blue & white bit of CPO sticking out gives it away as a former RT instead,) and yes, the tacky speaker grill is original.

also, the marquee area is solid wood with no provisions for backlight. one of Atari's crappiest designs.

Only if it's DIRTY cheap. Not only is that a pretty gnarly conversion, those old 19" cabs don't have enough room for 2-players to button-mash comfortably.

As we age we grow we little wider. It's one of the reasons why I bought a 37" Sony and I am slowly building cab around it. Nothing worse than playing a game and bumping next to someone to throw you off your game.

Thanks guys. Im not going to grab this. The speaker grill and lack of marquee light really throw me off. The friend of the family that owns it said they would practically give it away. $400 is there asking price. I was going to attempt to get it on the real cheap, but I don't thinks its even worth the effort.

yeah, it's a pretty awful design and wouldn't work well at all for a fighter.

i picked up my 2-player Gauntlet only because it was $100 and i was there with the seller asking me to take it please so he could make some space.
