Saw this earlier in the week and wanted to know what type of cab this Strider conversion was made from. Any ideas?

tough to tell without a side profile. But I'd put money on Atari Basketball.

i remember seeing a thread awhile back about those cabinets. here is a quote from that thread. the cab in question was purple.....

The purple cab came from UATA.. United Artists Theater Amusements.

UATA was a nationwide route run by the theater chain, and they designed their own cabinets with everything mounted on a compact drawer (supply, PCB, marquee, CP) so they could just mail them out to locations to make servicing and updating games easier. The business was shut down about 20 years ago.

It's a generic cabinet - I was told they were "7-11" cabs (used in 7-11s). I used to have one - here's a bunch of pics: http://thebrokenjoystick.com/pictures/711
The PCB mounts under the CP for easy swappage and the CP actually slides out completely. When I got mine, it had two CPs - one for JAMMA and one for System16. Mine came with Double Dragon and Golden Axe.

So, the swappability factor iscool but they are ugly (IMO).

Looks like you have the United Artist cab and Tom has the real deal. :)
