You really think it sucks? OutRun is a very fun driver.
I do, but I think a lot of old stuff does not stand the test of time. Outrun simply does not have the replay value for me to ever put in my collection. I would say the same thing about most other drivers too though...

What about Asteroids and Asteroids Deluxe cabarets? Both fun games to boot! I disagree with the previous comment about BattleZone sucking. I love my BZ cabaret and it is still fun to play after all these years!

To each their own. He already has an Asteroids, otherwise I would have suggested the A.D. cabaret.

Oops, I knew I had seen Stargate minis before, and just assumed a Defender version existed too.

So, is this a hack? It was on a UK website so I thought it was a version people here hadn't seen ... but it's wacky enough to be questionable.

That is new to me. I've seen other UK and European mini cabinets, but that one looks different (I'm still reviewing the other mini pics I have). I am curious to know where you found the picture and if they have any more, espcially showing the insides, boards used, sides, etc. The cabinet really reminds me of typical poker like cabinets, so it's possible it is a conversion too. The matching bezel and CP suggest something more than a general hacked conversion. Thanks for posting.

Two thirds of the way down on the left side. I stumbled on it so don't have any other details.

I've got a Centipede and Ms Pac mini, and full sized Galaga, Dig Dig, Asteroids, Tempest and Gorf. I just realized I'm all Atari and Midway.

I have room for one more mini. What should I get and why?

You should get a Red Baron mini. It's so rare even Todd Tuckey doesn't have one.

I have one of these cabs. Williams licensed a European firm (Streets) to produce a mini version of Defender. Not sure how many were produced. They did a cocktail version too.

Inside the cab it is 100% Williams, including power supply, ROM board, Sound Board, I/O Board, and main PCB. All boards are stock Williams, are labelled Williams, and have Williams serial numbers.

They're OK cabs, not as nice as a full Williams upright, but take up a lot less space!

Here's some pictures of mine:

Was that thing made BEFORE the original Defender????? It looks like a 70's machine with that metalflake paint.

That's awesome! Thanks for posting!!!

tb lilly, thank you very much for posting these! I will update the official mini and caberet list to include that game. The extra information is also very helpful. I noticed both game pics posted show no ball on the joystick. Was there suppose to be a ball or is that how Streets made it? Also, are their Williams diagnostics switches mounted inside like US Defenders and does the marquee light-up?

After all these years it is still fun to find a new game (or cabinet design). Reminds me of discussions from years ago when I was trying to convince folks Nichibitsu made a Crazy Climber in a white mini cabinet and SEGA made dedicated Choplifters. :)
