I tried yesterday to check some "World's Record" arcade game scores and their site http://twingalaxies.com was down. It's still down today.

I apologize if I missed a post about that here but my search didn't come up with anything.

Anybody know what's up? Just curious.

Not sure.

Hopefully they are redesigning the site. The last update, to put it lightly, was a disaster (both on the front end and the back end). The site was about 10 times slower than it was in the past and it looked like it had been designed in the early 90's.

Not sure why they redesigned it as it was looking and working nice beforehand.

The site clashed a few days ago i guess... The person running the site was at Funspot last weekend.. So he has'nt been around too fix it and bring the site back too life.

With the 2 events last weekend it's been a very busy week for classic gamers .
Good, now everyone can go back to playing games for fun. :)

So you're thinking that player rage, death threats, court restraining orders, uninvited machine inspections inside a residence, hate messages, exclusive cliques, taped score hording, and circumventing awkward questions by using an elderly lady as a courier aren't really faithful to the original spirit of arcade gaming?

"I told him you can lose your life, but do not lose this tape."

If your referring to David Hernly that did the score system for Acam last weekend, he has nothing to do with TwinGalaxies.

David runs Aurcade.com a completely independent scoring service. TwinGalaxies wasn't at this years event, though 2 refs were there on vacation and I don't believe either of them have anything to do with the web site.

The site being down probably has to do with setting it up as a paid service. They are massively in debt for last years big bang and although they have a solid recognizable name they don't have a way to turn that into a revenue stream. The other possibility is that they haven't paid the bills for the Internet host.

David on the other hand has a slick easy to navigate and fun to use system. Much better than what TwinGalaxies ever has had. Unfortunately Aurcade doesn't have the name factor that TwinGalaxies has in the world of high scores. Hopefully it will soon.

Maybe due to the site redesign, Twin Galaxies has been dropping traffic. Doesn't look like it is going to Aurcade...just disappearing:

Whois data looks like it hasn't expired:

Looks like the server is just not responding.

Of course. Only when I need to verify conditions of a high score does the site go down.

Gotta be the flux capacitor.

They can be bought new here.

I think Bob Roberts has them too.

What do you mean, "They are massively in debt for last years big bang..."? What does T.G. have to do with "Big Bang"?
