What are YOUR top 5 favorite games?

1. Burgertime
2. Excitebike
3. Mario Bros.
4. Arch Rivals
5. Q*Bert

All of these games have special meanings in my life. I can remember clear as day playing each one of these and where it was. If I could add those 5 to my collection.. I'd be a very happy man.

I have more of a floating Top 5... right now I'd say...

Red Baron - The sounds and joystick control are just awesome.
Omega Race - The game play takes a nice steady increase in difficulty, which gets your blood pumping when you approach your high score. ;)
Root Beer Tapper - Fun game, but gets pretty darn hard in a short time. Love the sound and the animations.
Crazy Climber - A favorite from BITD and it still holds my interest. There will be days where I play for an hour or so at a time.
Sinistar - Newest game down in the basement, so my son and I are hooked.

Top Five

Here it is for me...

1. Robotron: Super fast, great sounds.
2. Millipede: Another fast one. I play this game with my brother-in-law every time he comes over. Very challenging on the upper levels.
3. Battle Zone: One of my all time favorites. Great cabinet, great sounds and action. It really feels like you are in the game.
4. Defender: Takes a while to get the hang of it, but once you do...it is like playing a sport.
5. Gyruss: Another game that pulls you in. It's fast, great graphics and sounds.

Looks like I go for the faster shooting type games.

#1) STARGATE
Stargate is the greatest game ever created IMO. The sounds and explosions are spectacular and perfect. The stobing effects on a k4600 are intense. The actual gameplay in Stargate is as intense as any game ever created will get, and I mean any game, even current FPS games!

#2) Asteroids Deluxe

I can't play Asteroids for very long, it's just too boring. AD added several new dimentions to the game. The mirror effect and cabinet art are spectacular.

#3) Millipede

Just like AD, Millipede was a great update from Centipede. I love all the colors and chaotic action in this game. Prettiest cab art IMO, I really miss the Millipede I traded last year...

#4) Moon Patrol

A fun game with great music, just a blast to play.

#5) Bosconian

Very fun game, similar to Time Pilot and Sinistar but I really enjoy the gameplay on Bosconian. Only played this in mame, I have never seen a real Bosconian in person.

By the looks of the choices here I am the first to reply under 40 :)

Mortal Kombat - I was already hooked into SFII when this came out, but made my way over not long after. I remember resisting it thinking I was a SF loyalist. I got real good real quick. At the arcade it got to the point no one would play me, I had to offer to play people 1 handed. I haven't lost a game in about 18 years...granted not a ton of competition in the last 17 years or so. I could at its height play this game for 2+ hours on one credit (50 cents back then). The fighers looked real, outside of the jump kicks and spcial moves the movement was realistic, the game was a total chess match, reaction and counter, no move spamming here you paid for it.

SFIICE - The ability to take Sagat made this game amazing! The game that led an arcade resurgence.

Point Blank - This was in the Student Union in college for me, I would play this game everyday. It was on a showcase cab, and man I loved it. The recoil of the guns, the interesting challenges. I think I had every high score available.

Wrestlefest - A game that I always searched for in any arcade I walked into. I had so much fun playing this game, I would mercilessly beat on the opponents sometimes until the time expired trying to discover new ways to deliver moves.

Goal! - An odd choice but, friends and I played this and had such a blast. I used to take Colombia all the time and we used to give names to the players on the game and when we would score golas would shout the made up names. I spent so much money on this game.

Honorable mention - Primal Rage, NBA Jam, Tempest, Crystal Castles, Spy Hunter

1) Gorf - Five games in one plus a great looking cabinet and robot speech.

2) Robotron - Fast intense gameplay and my favorite control scheme.

3) BattleZone - Like someone else said, it feels like you are in the game.

4) Asteroids/Asteroids Deluxe - Great game play that still holds up to this day.

5) Dig Dug - I pumped (no pun intended) more quarters into this game BITD than
any other primarily due to location. Still holds alot of nostalgic value for
me.

Honorable mention - Qix, Mario Brothers, Pac Man, Moon Patrol, etc.

...Kind Sir, I ask you.... which of your CHILDREN do you find most dear?!?!?!?

hehehehe... in all seriousness... my favorites tend to deal more with nostalgia and what they meant to my childhood thank actual gameplay, graphics or rarity... ...hence "bad" games like "bump n' jump" or "dragon's lair" find their way in... but for pure experience of the game, i dont think you can beat the game integration that a great control interface like TEMPEST track and field or crystal castles offers.... *sigh* and for some reason i still refuse to list the 5... ?

1. Donkey Kong
2. Berzerk
3. Q-Bert
4. Centipede
5. Front Line
