Hey all,
Did a post a while back about what was the "best" pin and why. Art, sound, playfield, gameplay, fun factor, light show, etc. Anyways, been wondering what favorites people had in the Williams system 11 family and why if you care to say. Anyways, here is your choices according to IPDB.

System 11
Grand Lizard
High Speed
Road Kings

System 11A
F-14
Fire!
Fire! Champagne Edition
Millionaire
PIN·BOT

System 11B
Bad Cats
Banzai Run
Big Guns
Black Knight 2000
Cyclone
Earthshaker
Elvira and the Party Monsters
Jokerz!
Mousin' Around!
Police Force
Space Station
Swords of Fury
Taxi
Transporter the Rescue
Whirlwind

System 11C
Bugs Bunny's Birthday Ball
Diner
Dr. Dude
Pool Sharks
Radical!
Riverboat Gambler
Rollergames
The Bally Game Show

Hopefully I haven't missed anything. Anyways, lets say pick your top 5. Ought to get a pretty good idea of what folks like and why.

i think you left out fun house.
my top 5, fun house,whirlwind,pinbot,high speed,roller games.
#6 is taxi.

While Funhouse is certainly a great pin, IPDB lists it as a Williams WPC (Alpha Numeric) MPU rather than a System 11 architecture just like Harley Davidson and the Bride of Pinbot.

Most people consider FH as a sys11 pin. The first run of FH games had the larger side rails and a sys11 sound board in it. You are right in saying that FH is a sys12 (WPC) pin. They all used a WPC driver board and WPC CPU board. The playfield and displays do make the game look like a sys11 game.

RollerGames and Banzai Run.

Taxi, Earthshaker, BK2K, Whirlwind, Pin*Bot, and Rollergames.

But Earthshaker is my absolute favorite System 11.

Black Knight 2000, Earthshaker, Whirlwind, Bad Cats, Dr. Dude...

Truthfully though almost every System 11 game is good, just a matter of taste on the speed/appearance/sound! System 11's are great all around.

I think this would absolutely be my answer as well.

It's really hard to pick just 5 :(

Swords of Fury!! It's a weird one that doesn't come up often.. I owned one for about 6 years, loved it up until I traded it away.. Lot of pin for the money..

One vote for Space Station - I liked mine well enough to do a playfield swap. Not easy since it has twice as many GI sockets! And it's the only modern pin without inlanes, great for honing your dead-catch skills.

Still really want a Space Station but filled the slit for it with Pinbot so guess I got sys11 covered there either way.

Saving the last space for a really deep dmd or a hell of a deal.

I'm glad to see Earthshaker show up as much as it has. It's the only system 11 I own and really the only one I have ever played much. But I have to say its really fun. Here goes my very uninformed choices just from what little play time I have put on them as well as the general looks, etc.

1. Earthshaker, due to its fast shots, fun factor, and that its totally loud, annoying and super 80s retro.
2. F-14, I would love to pick up a nice example of this one as I think it would be a great player, it has an awesome presence in the dark, and I've heard its really fast (probably because its a Steve Ritchie pin). Although, I've heard it drains a lot.
3. Black Knight 2000: it just has beautiful art and the back glass looks awesome. Plus, its an update/sequel of a classic. Although, I'm really not sure why the original is rated better. They look like almost the same pin to me.
4. Elvira and the Partly Monsters: What can I say. Its Elvira. How can you go wrong with Elvira. But it does pale in comparison to Scared Stiff.
5. Number five is tough. I know IPDB rates Whirlwind the best. And Pinbot is certainly a classic. And Taxi and Diner have the edge for style and the Street Rep. Lot of people love them both. I think I'll go out on a limb and say BIG GUNS. A nice example would look great all decked out in LEDs. However, I am very tempted to change my answer to Swords of Fury. A great looking pin for sure.

Keep 'em coming guys.

Space Staion is a cool pin.. Owned one for years, except its not for everyone.. Bit wide open, and only has a few shots.. So once you've figured it out, it can get old.. I never got the shots down, so it kept me entertained :)
