One is a missing Konami chip not really sure of the type or if you can even get it anywhere any ideas I think its Location H3? Also a missing part around location H or G 19 any ideas of what part that is? Serial numbers would help thanks for any help in advance.

If no one has answered this by the time I get back from eating, I'll check my board for you....

I'm guessing the manual is no help?

I was looking at it but sometimes I get the schematics sometimes I don't in this case I didn't. I have definitely found in the course of this hobby that some manufactures do a really good job labeling all parts and listing them and others don't.

Okay, the chip at location G/H3 has this info on it:

Konami
083 8321Z02

The chip missing at J11 has this info:

A sticker that says "GY1"
M5L2764K
8351A1
JAPAN

The chip missing at J12 has this info:

A sticker that says "GY2"
JAPAN
MBM2764-25
8347 V00 AB

The crystal oscillator missing at location G/H19 has this info:

18.432
K.D.S

LOL awesome you're the man modessitt! Does anyone even sell a custom Konami chip like that?

Some one here had three non-working gyruss boards for sale. You could probably get one off of one of those...

I believe you got that wrong... they're "untested" gyruss boards

Um, I thought I read the post and:

1) had sound but no pic
2) one had nothing
3) Something funny about the other

Sounded like tested and not working....

I did send a message to the guy with the 3 tested nonworking boards he never got back to me as of yet. Might be the only way I can get a hold of that custom Konami chip is to part it off another board. Do you think is another game had that same chip it would be ok to use? Or do you think the Konami chip is programmed specifically for the Gyruss?

Apparently this guy sells a replacement for custom Konami chip 11G and several others!! Including chip G3 score LOL anyone ever get chips from this guy?

Wow the guy even developed a chip to convert Asteroids Deluxe to a standard non vector monitor. Just go to the bottom of the web page.

I'll see if any of my crap konami boards have an 083 on them.

I can burn the eproms, and I have plenty of 18.432 mhz crystals (I think).

Cool page... That saves me the trouble of reverse engineering the custom chips on my bootleg pooyan

At one time I had a page up saying which customs were used on which konami boards too, so it's good to see that info wasn't lost in my webserver crash.

Yeah I know the feeling losing stuff you worked really hard on I had my computer crash a couple of times and lost lots of good stuff on arcade related stuff. I can't believe someone actually figured out how to put Asteroids on a regular monitor still can't get over that. Let me know on a price on that stuff when you get a chance, I'm glad you like the page I couldn't believe the stuff he had myself.
