Plastic protectors. A deflector (pinbits has a nice one) for the PotD exit to protect plastics and pf and shire. Target decal set. Glass Palantir ball. Green #44 bulbs under/next to slings and around PotD. #44 yellow bulbs around both ramps and right/middle top of backwall. Warming filter for the fluorescent bulb. Add a few figurines on bases with museum putty. Piece of foam (blue lane divider square or some weatherstrip) on overhang under Barad-Dur tower. (Best to remove the stubby post in the saucer too--just one screw.) Backbox eye flasher kit? And add a shaker (with modded rom if it's not an LE). The shaker really makes this game sweeter.

heh steve... wow, thanks for all the great ideas. do you have any pics of your lotr all dialed in??

I will take some decent ones. The yellow bulbs around the ramps really make them pop, and the green for the slings and PotD enhance the pf color scheme imo.

Of course, an important mod is to tweak the lane exits, etc. so the shots are smooth. A shot coming down the right orbit should just miss the sling and go to the flipper, etc. This game really flows when tweaked. If a shot seems clunky, take the glass off and adjust whatever needs it to smooth out the shot. (This applies to any pin, btw!) I bought a NIB LotR LE, and didn't put the glass on to just play it for almost 3 weeks. It's been as smooth as butter since.

I used one of those Army of the Dead guys (with wide robe base) as a PotD deflector. Just attached him to the bottom part of the PotD near the sidewall, facing the upper right pf corner, with a dab of museum putty. Looks cool and works perfectly as a deflector--no more ugly bouncing balls!

thanks steve for the great ideas. i like your idea of the small tweaks to help the game flow better. i know the F word can be used alot in the pin world. hehe..

yes, no rush on the pics. would love to see some of the things youve done to get a better feel for how they look.

mrbill...... thanks for those links man. the potd figures look really good with the green lights. maybe better than the uvs. looks like alot of work and wiring too. chris
