What are some cool mods for Jurassic Park?

Hey Joe, I've seen someone replace the captive ball with the white ceramic powerball from Twilight Zone. That's the egg shot and makes the ball look more egg like. I've also seen some extremely detailed dinosaur toys at Hobby Lobby up at 75th and Bell. You could replace the pteranodons with ones with twice the wingspan, and could put a raptor on top of the captive ball lane right next to the raptor pit kicker.

That all sounds kind of familiar... ;)

Pics of mine are a little over half way down the thread. Also don't forget colored sleeve posts...they make a world of difference! I can't wait for Matt's T-Rex and JP Gate mods!

I really like the look of green post sleeves (4) across the top and green flipper rubbers on mine. There have been a couple threads on RGP about replacing the ugly blue box thing in front of and to the left of the T-Rex with a scale replica of a Ford Explorer from the movie.

A google search for "jurassic park pinball explorer mod" will do the trick.

Fun game!

so.....did any of you guys do the explorer mod yet? .....spent at least 3hrs today online trying to find a 1/64th scale explorer to do but cant find one anyware sure would like to have one like the guy did with the clear roof on the other forum sure is cool!.........any other ideas.....?

peace, B.

I thought about doing the explorer, but it's a pain in the arse to find one so I'll worry about that later. I bought the raptor figure to put near the raptor kickout. That's the only dino I'm going to add as I think too many looks cluttered. I may do some palm trees if I can find some that don't look like toys.

I'm still working on a couple lighting mods that I hope will work out. - Barry

cool, what bulbs/position in back are the guys doing in green, that sure makes the back field really pop....I want to do that, and the green posts.

yea that dam explorer is made of unobtainium, hunted hard for it and blanked on it, not even a kinda close one to mess with. I am on the hunt when I find one I will do one up.

see if Matt will share some more pictures of his machine curious on what bulbs he used in the explorer and how he mounted it....

the kids have a bunch of dino's they had all the JP figures at one time I am sure they have a Raptor I can snag.

another question on this, what topper did this game have that was lited? my game has the bracket and some non working dome lights ontop.

thnx, I have seen that topper but never saw any pictures where it is lit up, there are 4 lights and a small one in the center, they have to be fairly bright when on.

Oh ok... Well it's not anything too spectacular. Those dome lights that sit along the top behind the metal trim and in front of the topper simply cast light onto the topper. The texture of the topper creates some shadow effects on the topper.

got ya, I need to find a topper and play around with bulbs maybe some led's, it would probably look better with the lighting a tad brighter.

My local Walmart had a nice looking raptor. I haven't installed it yet but I can get a pic of it tonight. -Barry
