in the summer of 2008 my garcade housed 12 games. There were 2 pins and 10 cabs. That's been my all-time high to date. What was your max count and when was it? Or is it right now?

My max was 14 dedicated cabs, 1 pin, and a MAME cab. That was about 3 months ago; I have sold 6 of the dedicated cabs since then, and traded another.

today.. around 70..Might sell a couple in Dec but I also plan to scratch build a couple so the number will probably stay the same.

Currently between 3-400 pieces plus parts and paperwork.

I am waiting for the producers of that show "Hoarders" to call me... :(

All time high was 225 or so. That was back in the early 90's when I could still make some money with them. Since I sold all of those off I only keep what will fit in my game room, 15-20. Currently sitting at 16, and i'm thinking that number works for me.

I think you should amend this question to say "personally owned games for your own private enjoyment" to eliminate those who are in the business and have a bunch of games on location, in a warehouse, etc. I mean, the guy who owns Funspot or the Pinball Hall of Fame could theoretically list them as "his games" when they aren't technically for his private enjoyment. And you should also say "actual cabinets" to eliminate guys like Mark who have hundred of game boards.

That being said, I have had a high of about 32. I think I'm down to about 27 now, but I got another two recently that I haven't added to my VAPS yet, as they are conversions...

Currently at 45. Twenty five of them are in the game room right now. The rest are in various states of disrepair.

Yeah, and to those who have 50, 70, 100 games, whats the point? I honestly don't say that to sound like a dick, but I only have 12 games and don't play them all. When you are in those ranges, is it more just for the "wow" factor? The "check out what I have" kind of thing? I would think in a home environment, you cant have them all on at once, so how does one enjoy that many?

Well then why do you still have 12? Why not get rid of the ones you don't play?

Probably the same reason the people with 45+ have them. Variety and the enjoyment of collecting them.

For me, there are only a few games that I play on a regular basis (Funhouse, Robotron, Sinistar, Donkey Kong), and the rest are there because I enjoy playing them from time to time.

While I admit the WOW factor may be part of the reason to own so many games let me at least point out in my defense that I played 15 different games yesterday alone. And personally have been on a kick for a few weeks now where I've been playing a good number of games. I own a good number of games because I enjoy them. Occasionally I have friends or family visit and play the games as well. Despite the fact that I do have a number of project games in my garage right now, I do have room in my house to live comfortably and still have about 100 playable games in my house. I grew up in an area where I was lucky enough to at least have seen if not played most of the rare titles from BITD as well as pretty much all the common ones. So while some people have a list of 10-30 games they really like I would say my list is easily 100 or more titles. I would only say that I have maybe 2 games in my collection that I don't really like.

Oh and you're probably right at the moment that I can't have them all on at once. After I add another breaker or two it shouldn't be a problem though. I think I've had 40-50 on at once at most.

+ 1 for that answer. I currently am at 30 total. 27 in the gameroom and 3 in the garage.

Apparently no one is allowed to ask a "why do you have so many games" around here. No need to get pissed, it was a simple question. Maybe I'm jealous that I don't have the space to have that many games? Who knows.
