What’s One Arcade Game You Regret Selling or Passing On?

Had the opportunity to buy an Omega Race Cockpit for $100. It was converted to "Great 1000 Mile Rally" for some ungodly reason. Had to pass because that sucker is huge. The offer isn't off the table, so I may still end up getting it if it is worth it. What do y'all think? Should I make a post about it?

at that price, yes, get it. if you're not up for a big restore like that, my hunch is that someone here within driving distance of you would be

I used to regret selling my Atari Millipede. That was until I got a centipede cabinet and threw multipede in it. Other than that I have no real regrets with selling full machines.

I'm starting to get to the point where I have to start making decisions in the home arcade on what I should keep due to space constraints. I also can't really bring more machines into the house until I do some electrical work in the house. I need more circuits for more games.

depending upon condition and completeness, no doubt, it would probably be a time-tested labor of love. if you're up for the challenge, you'd have to grab it, parse KLOV for other Omega Race cockpit details/threads, list what you need, and create a Want-To-Buy thread seeking the parts. If you're on FB, I understand there's dozens of groups from which you might be able to source parts as well.

unless it's completely water logged and beat to hell and beyond saving, $100 seems an excellent deal

I would love to restore it, but where would I even find parts for it?

I regret selling my Creature from the Black Lagoon and Congo pinball machines. Also, my TMNT pinball machine. As for vids, Outrun, Wacko, Black Widow, maybe Space Wars? Maybe Star Wars? Maybe my red tent? Maybe Ghosts and Goblins?

I had a chance to get a Joust pinball machine that was on eBay for $400 and I was on the phone will the seller making shipping arrangements but I had not click the buy now. Someone else click the buy on while we were talking and it was gone.
If we're talking about things you didn't pass on and still didn't get...

I recently "bought" and paid-in-full a War of the Worlds project cabinet.
One day later the seller received a higher offer. I received my money back.
Glad I at least got my money back. Would have preferred the game.

No, not naming names.

Asteroids Deluxe cabaret.

Was never good at Asteroids, but loved the vector tech and the cabaret form factor. Seller's remorse set in while it was still going up the basement stairs.

Last year, found another locally and couldn't be happier. I haven't even turned it on in ~6 months, but it's comforting just knowing it's there.

One that I had almost forgotten about that "passed on" but was out of my control was a "TARG" cabaret. Someone had converted it into a Data East "Break Thru" and unfortunately before I had the chance to de-convert it, it was destroyed in a tornado that took out several of our projects in storage. Game is definitely nothing magical, but definitely rare.

Targ is one of my favorites. They're out there, I'm certain you'll find another

If it's not too far away I am interested

I regret selling my dedicated major havoc, I bought it back in 93 for $250.00 from grand prix race o rama and sold it a couple years later for $500. now I can't even imagine paying the price this game is getting nowadays, still in my top 5 games

I think every game I've sold was so that I could get a different game, so in that sense, I don't really regret selling any of them. I'm really happy with my current lineup (mostly pins at this point).

But if I had a lot more space and an endless supply of money, there are several I'd buy again.

A red DK I got from a sketchy meth house with beautiful original no-trademark side art. Covered in dust with possum footprints across the monitor.

Absolutely beautiful machine that cleaned up really well, but in juuuuuuust the right light it had some great 1980's graffiti lightly carved into the coin door.

A smiling stick figure with tits and a dick, with "FART" scrawled right above it.

Sold it when I got out of the hobby, regretted it, replaced it years later with a rougher one when I got back in. Gah that was a beautiful machine. 🤦‍♀️

I'll always love that stick figure. 😭
