Can someone enlighten me if my pin is behaving badly or not? It involves tripping the Bigfoot Bluff hazard. Maybe I just don't know a rule or something.

Here is my issue: Sometimes, when the hazard is lit, I can shoot that ramp 10 times and it doesn't award the hazard. But the switch under the mountain is activating because bigfoot _always_ diverts the ball down the whirlpool. He doesn't make any noise (the Ha ha ha) when does though, he just moves the log. No head turn either. That may be normal, but I don't know for sure. He does turn his head and laugh at other times.

Then later, during the same game and sometimes on the same ball, it does award the hazard when I shoot the ramp, but only if I have gotten past the first one by spotting a hazard in some other way, like hitting the bouncebacks or shooting disaster drop a bunch. It doesn't seem to matter if the whirlpool lamp is lit, but I may be wrong. And it doesn't happen every game. It's weird.

I have the LH-6 home freeplay rom in it, but I don't remember any known bugs in it.

Can someone confirm that their machine never does this, and what ROM you have? Or if you have seen the same behavior, I'd like to know that too. I have LH-5 and whatever version was in the game when I bought it if swapping those in would help troubleshoot anything.

I have checked the under mountain switch a million times. It's not loose or mis-adjusted and I have the mod done to the ramp to prevent fly up balls. In any case, Bigfoot would not divert the ball if that switch was broken, right?

Any taps with the clue stick are appreciated.

Maybe you should just come up to logan and play mine and see if its the same :) Seems like something isn't activating for sure, but I just got my WH20 so I am not qualified to say yet.

The switch that registers the award is under the bigfoot cave mountain, you can see it here:

Bigfoot will divert the ball *always* when you start the mode, no matter if that switch is working or not.

On old game roms you had to start the mode quite often or the game would think the switch was bad and give a credit dot for it. If I remember correct you would then not get the award the first time you shoot it, but only the second time.

On newer gameroms it takes a lot more of games until it's set as broken, so you shouldn't see a credit dot unless you don't shoot it in like 50 games..

Imo you do have a switch that just doesn't register all the time, try to replace/adjust it ? And do you test by hand or by rolling a pinball (fast) over it ?

Crap. You are right, it's the switch under the mountain. It has a metal tab attached to 2 plastic nubs on the switch, and the nubs are worn off letting the tab flop around. End result: It does not always register a pinball going under it.

Man, I thought for sure I had eliminated that switch as a problem since Bigfoot diverts the ball, but it turns out that bigfoot diverts the ball when BOTH the under mountain switch _or_ the entrance switch is activated.

Live and learn, live and learn. Thanks for the helps, guys!
