I just bought another Ms Pac/Galaga Reunion and the monitor has bad burn and jittery. I have a another tube but I know these WGM2574 were a short run. Can these be made reliable with aftermarket caps/components or are they just junk all together? Am I better off buying a Wells 7k chassis which are rock solid or have Buffet rebuild this chassis. The chassis code is P63 which I believe is a k7400.

There is a version of the k7000 that has a mod to it from wg that makes the sides straight so it does not bow out. I have seen this in the 25" pacman cabinet.

I would just fix it though, caps kits and flybacks are avalible.

If anyone is curious, this is what it is doing. The good news is the tube swap went well and the ghastly MS Pacman dark maze burn is now gone. I am not sure what my camera phone was picking up because it doesn't sound that narely in person.

Edit - I just spoke to Buffet and he said rebuild it.

it blows my mind still that people achieve screen burn on those games. your brightness shouldn't be where you see dots in black raster. :)

I bought two of these at two different times (one for 4 way vert and the one for 8 way vert) Both had the maze roasted on the screen and the worst burn in I have ever seen.
