I picked up a real clean dynamo cut corner cab with a capcom bowling setup in it....

Powered it on and nothing... pulled out my DMM and was getting no reading from the dreaded peter chou switcher....

Threw a new switcher in and it fired up....

Now where I need help...

The game is barely viewable on the screen...

Looks like an all original WG K7602 in it... mostly pink screen but I can see some graphics as shown in the attached pics...

What are your suggestions to get it running? I doubt a cap kit alone will fix this but i'm looking for advice....

What would you do?

Here are the pics:

yes a cap kit and new fly will help.

also check the focus pin in the neck socket and the focus wire to make sure of a good connection.

i wouldn't think so it is working, so a cap kit and fly and re-flow should do the trick.

make sure your contrast isn't juiced to the max. I saw something like your picture on a K7500 once and after dicking with the focus for an hour I realized it was the contrast HELLA washing out everything lol

looking better.

looking better.

i would try and center all the pots on the neck and the brightness and contrast pots and see if you can get it looking better.

it needs new caps and a fly to keep it running for years to come.

that's what i would try/do any way.

looks very washed out. I would hold off on tinkering with the white balance and such until you cap it.

always verify that your Screen and Brightness adjustments are done so that your black backgrounds are absolute black -- just before the pixels appear (that's when it's set too high). Contrast you turn up just high enough before you get smearing (best done on a black background with text, you'll see the streaks coming off the sides of the letters). and white balance is a tricky art. buffett knows what's up there. :)

chances are your replacement flyback will lack the actual connector that goes to the G2 pin on the neckboard. you will have to desolder the G2 pin out and hardwire the G2 wire off the flyback in there. the focus wire will go into a little plastic housing I'm sure, whether the "door" part locks the wire into a hole you slide it into or it's soldered in I'm not entirely sure. can't remember if the 19" monitors were much different (which yours looks like)
