Im having trouble getting 180V off of pin 5 of p900. Im getting 62V. The picture keeps expanding and retracting. Like its going in and out of focus. The boards been capped, replaced ZD902. Was wondering if a bad flyback could cause this but still show a picture? Could a flyback go partially bad or do they just go dead completely? There is no spark when I discharge the flyback to remove it. It should have a charge after I run it, shouldnt it? The 25k pot is original. Thinking about replacing the it. Im also getting 29.8vdc at pin 1 and -26.8vdc at pin 8 of P900. Not getting 28vdc and -28vdc but close.
I'm also not getting deflection on left upper and lower quadrants of screen. Spot killer is on. It has brand new transistors at Q102, Q605 and Q606. The other chassis transistors tested good. But going to go through Q103, Q705 and Q706 again tomorrow to make sure. Might have fried something after testing. Fuses all good, not blowing. Game plays but vectors not drawing right. Like I said before, only deflection on right side of screen.
And yes I have been though the FAQs

Any input would be appreciated
Thanks,
Dan

The pot in the power supply could be bad. Also, it's really common to put the diodes in the wrong place since some of the ZD labels appear very similar to the D labels. Some power supplies in 6100's also have an feature that automatically cuts the HV if it's adjusted too high. That can cause similar problems.

I'm no expert...but I've had similar issues in the not to distant past.

Game doesnt show anything it test mode. replaced 25k pot. Went through the transistors. All test good. 180v still not showing at pin 5 of p900. still getting 62v. Maybe im testing it wrong, becasue I get a picture now. Game plays and spot killer goes off and on. Video corrupted so thing theres a problem in the vector section of the logic board.

question have you capped it with the deluxe bob roberts cap kit and/or installed a lv2000? also the connector for the wires that go between the hv and the neckboard might be bad, you might try cutting that connector off and splicing the wires together with wire connectors as i was having the same problem when i had my space duel and thats what fixed it

I have picture now but im not measuring 180v still. Still get around 59 to 62. Maybe im measuring wrong. Its 180vdc right? Its weird i still get a picture. Problem now is garbage on screen and corrupted vectors. Something going on in the vector generator section of logic board. Games plays fine. Have another post up for that.

It didnt. That was another problem. The AVG chip fixed the corrupted video. Not sure why I was getting 62v. Havent checked it since the monitor started working. It works, thats all that matters.
