Hope I can get a little help here, I was told by another forum member to change out the X-Y deflection caps, so I ordered a cap kit from arcadeshop and I'm ready to go, I just don't know which ones go where? Also, is it possible to put them in the wrong way (flipped, ie turned 180 degrees so the opposite posts go in the frame)?

Here we go, this is what I have:

Side of monitor, showing 2 caps:

Bottom of monitor, not showing top of the other 4 caps:

Other side of the 4 caps:

The caps that were included in the kit:

Thanks in advance for your help!! I hope this gets it up and running, it appears that it has had a cap kit so we'll see from here... :)

actually those are "Bottlecap" delection transistors. And no they wont mount properly if they arent oriented correctly...
and the numbers should match up with the existing ones..

I looked at the chart, but none of the numbers match on what I have.

There's got to be someone who does Arcadeshop cap kits on WG6100's who knows this off the top of their head..

I'll try to find a cross-reference chart somewhere, but I haven't had much luck yet..

If you are talking about these transistors, they are listed on that chart. Q705, Q706 and Q102 are 2N3716 (NPN). Q706, Q606 and Q103 are 2N3792 (PNP).

EDIT: Are you talking about the numbers not matching with the installed transistors? (Sorry, I can't see the numbers on them installed on the frame.)

There are no deflection caps, there are deflection transistors. You have two different transistors that go into six locations. It is not that hard, go to the link provided and look at the drawing.

And I have seen transistors installed on these that had different numbers than the 3716/3792's. Apparently there were other crosses that worked, but just put these in.

All you really need to do is make sure you put the mica insulators on when you replace them, and do a continuity check between the outside casing and the frame after you tighten them down (you don't want any), as sometimes a leg will get maneuvered up against the frame. Test them with the connector to the deflection board unplugged...
