Well Andrew has been helping me a ton with this thing. I am really only starting this thread to get some pictures out there since I can't figure out how to put them in a pm, also to get some immediate help if he's not around today.

I have a wg6100 that currently is showing skewed vectors (squiggly lines) and only 1/2 of the screen. I have a 2nd 6100 100% working to help me trouble shoot.

Both of my deflection boards and hv units work flawlessly on one tube. The 2nd tube (which I am discussing here) is the problem. With either defl bd and hv unit.

So I have switched them back and forth 3 or 4 times as I did testing to prove that the issue is with the frame/tube and not the boards.

Previously I had a decent screen but I was missing the top half of the screen. Anyway, I went in and tested all of the transistors (good) tested for continuity between every wire that is connected to anywhere and where it comes out (good), none of the transistors are shorted to the frame. I did have an issue earlier where I was getting no chatter, spot killer off and a blown fuse at F4 in the power brick. May have been a loose ground wire/connection, because that problem has gone away now.

here are some pics. My latest problem is the squiggly lines and now I am missing the bottom half of the screen.

I do have 6 new transistors, I was going to just go in and change them and see what happens.

It may be worth mentioning that if I put the other tube (with either deflection board and hv) back in and plug it in, flawless. So it doesn't appear to be a MH board issue. Honestly it has worked flawlessly for 2 years.

My guess is that shorted or not, the chassis transistors are toast. Swap the transistors from the good setup onto the bad setup and see if the problem follows.

well I may as well install the 6 pac of transistors I have been holding for a wg6100 rainy day. Guess that's what I should have done 2 days ago. Thanks, I will do that.

well for the record, changing the transistors did it. I changed all 6.

thanks bro. For the record Andrew went above and beyond to help me trouble shoot this issue, on top of fixing other issue with my monitor boards.
thanks again

Glad you got it working Dylan. Hopefully you wont have any 6100 problems for awhile

Andrew
