I thought I had this monitor working, but I thinking a bad harness blew something

both 3A fuses (F600 & F700) on the deflection board smoked and C901 in the HV

I put new fuses in and a new C901

all 3 smoked again....

I pulled all the board check the transistors on HV and deflection boards they looked good. (still gotta check all the chassis transistors again

What would make C901 fry? bad flyback?

the gameboard (tempest) works fine with output on X/Y to my scope

I have LV200 Lite installed as well both leds are on it and not spot killer LED -- no chatter either -- so I think no HV

I thought I was pretty careful but now its unplugged since I was checking it. I will surely check very thoroughly next fire up!

Too much voltage across a cap will blow it. Is D903 illuminating? (HV overvolt LED)
OR
Faulty Yoke may cause them 2 x fuses to blow

A cleaned up diagram is here

Mine is the old style no LED or over voltage adjust -- I did move the HV adjust to mid range when I stuck the new cap in the second time

I also used a 160V versions(that's all I had) vs the original 50V I had from the cap kit. It blew just the same just more smoke and spewage since it was bigger -- kinda like a smoke blow torch out of the top!

So I think one the 25V wires in the harness going to the brick was in the wrong hole on the harness -- I had popped them out to test everything so I'm not positive -- I think that was the iniitial trouble

Checked the chassis transistors and 2 of the 3716 were fried swapped with a couple of old spares and I'm back in business (of course with 2 more fuses and yet another C901 -- but we knew I needed those again!)
