Okay.. I picked up a machine recently and the monitor was perfect....until I moved it into my basement. I turned it on and smelt something so immediately turned it off.. I took a look and the chassis was not screwed down and moved on the screw posts.. Damn..

So, as of now I have no picture although there is neck glow. The only burnt areas I see are the transistors (which test normal) on the neck board. Hopefully it's something I can fix with a little advice.

Any tips/places to test would be great, going to dig into it shortly.

Thank you!

*issues uploading pics, sorry. Trying...

that could be anything on the chassis that blew.

we need HI RES pics of it so we can zoom in on the chassis.

i would check the horizontal circuit and vertical circuit for any damaged parts.

does it tick or do anything besides smoke??

that chassis may be one you may have to send in to get fixed.
it could have blew a unknown amount of parts depending on what touched and where.

if you hit a brick wall and need it fixed, your welcome to send it in.

Peace
Buffett

No matter what I can't upload a picture for some reason. I have been able to on other posts I have made. (jpg)

No more smell, it was slight and instant when turned on. - I get neck glow, no ticking. If I turn up the fly a bit, I get a red horizontal line across the screen.

The screw post was rubbing on the traces where the RGB/Sync pins run to the pins/harness to the neck board (front right side if looking at it installed on the tray).

-Buffett, PM me what you charge and your timeline on something like this. Or do you have one ready to go and take a trade of some sort? (WG2520-U4BR25F)

Thanks

sounds like you smoked some parts in the vertical section.

the chassis is still somewhat working so that is good.
