hi people I have an what apeares to be an original deer hunting cab it playes blind
so I figured the chassi is bad and needs work so I thought it would be better to buy a new chassi to last longer in the long run so I bought a chassi from (arcadecrt)from this site.
(Factory Sealed k7400 (p763) 25" complete chassis monitor boards)For your original k7400 or u2000/u5000 tubes.. Yoke #009A2988-001. how do I find out what yoke I have the only sticker I can find says. 932313 EIA 343 MEXICO 95-3608 ?
they said the board should work with my monitor the people here tell me I have a u5000 chassi so I put the new chassi in and power up and still nothing no glo or pic on the tube but I did see a blue ark come from my yoke when I turn the power on so I assume my yoke is bad. souldnt I still get neck glow even if my yoke is bad? I don't know what WG monitor I have it a 25inch I put some pics on image shack it said the were to big to post here. the pic of the yoke with a black circle shows where the ark comes from right next to the letter s.

when watching the ark it appears to come from the plastic where the s mark is. and it jumps to the metal colar ring with the tightening screw. it sparks once then nothing after that im assuming it shuts down the board before damage ocurrs? does that mean I have a bad yoke. I measured the ohms h-2.4 v-5.8

you sure the crt ground is connected to the neckboard????

there was a cable that lead to the ground that surrounds the monitor with a white plug it is connected to the ground post of the neckboard? thanks for your reply I haven't gotten many tho.

I hope you haven't connected the degauss coil to the neckboard...

take several good pics of the monitor, back of the tube, neckboard on and neckboard off (but leave wires connected to it) etc. Maybe one of us can see something.

bare wire on yoke

i already took the yoke off before you asked for pics in the picture right under the big S there are two wires that both go to the white wire on the left one of the copper wires in the crack seems to have some of the clear coating missing in a small spot would a small bare spot cause the yoke to ark to the metal clamp. both wire seem to be connected.

You might have the wrong yoke. I'm used to the U5000 yokes having the 9A2988-1 label and a white housing, which I don't see on yours. Typically the grey housing and the "S" are seen on the K7000 yokes, as well as a label that says 9A2911-002.

Here is a few pics of a working K7000 yoke that I just took. Notice the similarity to yours:

For comparison, here is a known good U5000 (and K7400/U2000) yoke:
