OK... Omega Race... i was experiencing what appeared to be blooming... so I recapped the WG V2000 in it... I noted that the HV diode looked beat and replaced it. I fire up the game and... the same. But it's not blooming...it's jumping in width and back. So I replace the 10K pot on the Omega Race board and... no help. Same issue.

I then move the monitor over to the Asteroids where...

... it does the same thing... it jumps in width and back...

It appears to get worse when there is a lot going on on-screen OR especially when there is a "high-bright" object on screen.

Since there is no width pot on the V2000... where do I look?

Thanks!

From what I am reading, it appears this may be a transistor issue... does that sound right? I am guessing it uses different transistors than the WG6100 which I have a bunch on hand...

Since this is a x-y, seems to me to be a regulation problem. You said it happens alot when the screen is bright and the beam current in the tube is highest. Depending on which cap kit you used, im assuming you did, you may have missed a couple in the HV reg circuit. Check the C9xx caps. If you need a manual its in the monitor section of new life games http://newlifegames.net, or inbox me and ill email it to you. Guess we are only allowed 100k attachments here. I am not ruling out a bad Q7xx in the X amp either.

Used a Bob Roberts kit... and there are only like 4 or 5 caps on the HV board... they did all get replaced. I believe every cap was replaced minus the two large filter caps.
