I have a WG U3000 that will not focus. Was starting to disassemble to install a cap kit. When I was documenting the connections and getting ready to remove the neckboard I noticed this wire unplugged next to what looked like a likely home. Does anybody know if this black wire that is coming out of the flyback goes back in this socket on the neckboard? If so does it just go in that socket or am I missing a connector that goes in that socket? Do you think that will solve my focus problem?

that is the focus wire from the fly back.
it needs to be in that hole in the socket.
just lift the tab out of the socket seat the wire firmly in there and rock the tab back in place.

That worked great. Got the monitor set where I wanted and it was looking good. After being on for 10-15 mins the picture goes to a pincushion that I can't adjust out with the remote board. Will likely install the cap kit I have this weekend and see if that corrects that problem. If that doesn't work any other ideas what might correct the pincushion I have now?

Pincushion adjust is on the HV board, near the front. Good luck, heh!

I don't think I need to adjust the pincushion. The screen is full width and square when cold. When it runs for 10-15 minutes it creeps in to pincushion and I can't adjust it out with the remote board.

Welp, that's why they tell you to let the monitor warm up for half an hour before adjusting it. Geometry issues when "cold" that go away as the monitor warms up is normal for many arcade chassis. If the pincushion won't adjust out with the controls on the HV board, then yeah, you do have a problem yet...
