If I have a K7000 chassis with a P448 neck board, can I remove the P448 neck board and replace it with a P456 and still expect the monitor to work? Is the neck board independent of the chassis that it can go to, provided it is still a K7000 chassis?

It should work, as long as the neck sockets are the same size. Most regular K7000's had am 8-pin socket, but some had 10-pin sockets. You can swap the neckboard between them just fine, but then you'd need the other tube/yoke...

Ah....

So I take it that they only came out with the two different neck board configurations to accomodate different tubes for the same chassis?

I've been looking for a K7000 chassis with a 8-pin neckboard but have only been finding 10-pin ones. An option seems that I could swap the neck board on that chassis with the 8-pin that I have.

Thanks for the reply!

The 8-pin was typically found on the 19" and the 10-pin was typically found on the 25". However, the 19" med-res versions use a 10-pin...

Right. I have a 19" K7000a with an 8-pin, but also a 19" K7901 with a 10-pin.

I guess it was whatever particular tube they had in the factory that week, and that's what they used....
