I have a wg k7501 in my nba/ngl blitz combo. The flyback was cracked but would never stay in focus after shutdown and re-start. So,I replaced the flyback and while in there decided to re-cap it also. I have done flybacks and cap kits before with no problems, but now after doing both I have this problem. I have a black see through bar on the left side. You can see the words, numbers, game, etc but it has like a transparent black bar over half the left side. I checked all caps, solder joints, flyback, etc.... I did noticed when I pulled the chassis back out to re-inspect, stupid me, 1 cap had its legs not cut and crossed,I missed it.... C117 - 22uF 63v
I replaced the cap, but still same result. I measure the B+ voaltage and its reading 184.5

Anyone have any ideas what can be causing this, or what happened or even see this before?

Any help or info would be awesome.
Thanks

Ken, should I just re-do the cap kit again on the monitor? You dont have a picture of the solder side of this chassis? I ask because so I can just verify some solder joints to make nothing is bridged?

Thanks

If you had a capacitor ESR testing meter, you could test all the caps you installed to look for a bad one. Remember, you can also get bad capacitors right out of the package.....it happens. I always test new ones before I put them in.

Sorry, i have no pictures of this chassis.

Does anyone have a picture of the k7501 chassis showing the black wire around the flyback and it soldered on the board in the front.

You might check these caps first
for correct Polarity or solder in good or correct uf
or new defective cap.

C805 2.2uf 200v
c310 10uf 200v
c812 2.2uf 350v
c808 2.2uf 200v
c504 4.7uf 160v
Did you replace C811? The 4.7uf NP 100v
Heres a pic i found online if it helps.

Also The way the filament wire is looped or routed
around the fly core may effect the raster.
It needs to be the same way as the old fly was routed.
If all the caps you installed check good.
Let us know what you findout.

I'LL let you guys know, wont be able to check til tomorrow I am working all day and tonight for someone.

I just don't remember the route how it was around the flyback, I have a few pictures to compare to but there far shots.

If anyone has close up of the wire being routed around the flyback, that would be great, that way I can match it exact.
