WG K7500 With a Wei Ya Replacement Chassis?

Dunno, but Wei Ya is not known for producing great pictures and the K7500 with the correct chassis has a very nice picture when everything is 100%.

I'd really suggest buying a K7500 chassis; they're not THAT hard to find. Just make sure that you know whether you're buying a 7501 or 7502 chassis. They work with different tubes/yokes.

I actually have 3 or 4 K7500s at work. I no longer have a K7500 tube there though. had an original K7500 tube that I yoke swapped a K7400 one onto and still have the yoke there however. really don't wanna pull those parts off. :/

I think I got them in parts/repair condition, but maybe one of them works, or all, that would be cool.

Wei-Yas are complete junk. if you have no use for a medium res monitor I would hunt around local to you to see if anyone would maybe want to trade or something.

I have 3 Wei Ya chassis sitting in the parts pile. All three
lasted about 20 minutes then smoked.

Never again.

Just curious if I could convert my WG K7500 to standard res using a Wei Ya universal replacement chassis? Anyone tried this?

Where are you located? I will trade you a working standard res 25" K7000 for your 25" K7500. (Assuming the K7500 works). PM me to follow up on this.

Or find someone locally willing to do this.

Medium res monitors are hard to find and some of us want to play house of the dead. ;)

Were you using ISOs? I ask because they advertise as not needing one but they most definitely do.

I'm in Burnsville, MN, but I would need a 27" to fit the cabinet. Thanks anyway.

the guy that did the gig that I have now would 86 ALL chassis and put these garbage Wei Ya chassis in the games. He tossed 100's of k4900, G07's and k7000's before I got the job.

Talk about a nightmare. Bouncy, non brightness stable crappy chassis.

Chris25810 is the monitor guy in your neck of the woods. He would likely be able to get you what you need. I'm not sure if he will do a trade. He isn't cheap, but the monitor I got from him was well serviced.

This is an outrage.

Wei-ya is a legit monitor manufacturer and not Chinese and to the best of my knowledge they don't make "universal" chassis. I wish the OP had posted a link to the chassis but if it's the one I think (no switch mode power supply and very few components) it's not made by Wei-ya.

his post was about an old chassis not one of the newer ones with a switch mode supply on board.

FWIW, I'm not much of a fan of the current models of Wei-ya monitors either.

I think Makvision IS Wei-Ya. and based on that alone, they can suck it.

my rule is if it only has 2 wires, chances are it needs an iso. the ones intended to plug into walls will have the ground wire built into the plug too. the Makvision stuff doesn't if I remember right though, so that's a key difference.

I never really followed them, are those the ones that 8Liners sell then?

This.

I cant tell you how many BRAND NEW OUT OF THE BOX Maks I've plugged in only to have them fail in under 30 minutes.

Garbage.

The 24.8" maks (which were the only ones you could get toward the end) do have 3 wires and don't need an iso.

But that might just mean they heard you complaining and later fixed it. ;)
