wg k7500 turns off after 5 minutes ideas?

If you cycle power does it come back on or does it need a cool down period before it will work again?

Either way it could be a cold solder joint that is opening when it heat up too much or a problem with the B+ that is causing a HV shutdown.

I have seen the solder joints on the power connector go bad too.

Yes indeed...
After it shuts down gently wiggle the power connector and see if it tries to fire up.
I have seen the solder joints go bad and also the pins inside the connector become "loose".

Start with the simple and work your way in.

Next step would be to check the B+ as mentioned.

I had this issue in a K7000. Checked out the chassis and found a bulging cap. Recapped, problem solved.

I had a similar problem on a K7500. After a complete rebuild, new flyback, etc, I eventually determined the problem to be a cold solder joint on a resistor in the far back right corner near the rear plastic mount....

ok now problem with flyback ground

Ok reflowed cold solider joints,it stays on no problem. Now the ground going into the flyback has some kind of short not at the neckboard if you hit the cab or turn the wheel hard the screen flickers ,found this after wiggleing the ground wire coming off the fly.So should I try to replace the section of ground wire or replace the flyback?Has anyone sectioned that wire before?

I've seen it before, those bastards at PNL did it on my Polo. not entirely sure WHY they did it, considering they put a new flyback in anyway.

I guess in the short term you could do it. if the flyback's got some mileage on it, I'd just replace it, like if your focus craps out randomly or the screen contrast fluctuates. I don't think they're that much for a K7500
