WG K7000 without iso.

Well, there is nothing but solid glass under the location with the "missing pin".

I'm guessing that Oryk is correct, no missing pin.

For Ken, here are some pics of the inside of KI2 cab with no iso.

Now with that metal housing flipped so you can see under it.

Killer Instinct 2 manual...page 1-6

CAUTION!!
The monitor does not require an isolation transformer. However, when servicing the monitor on a test bench, YOU MUST ISOLATE THE MONITOR FROM LINE VOLTAGE WITH AN ISOLATION TRANSFORMER.
THE MONITOR IS HEAVY.....etc etc

Why does this game not have an ISO??? Is there any way to find out what monitor this game was shipped with? The manual gives a part number of 5675-14660-01, and the game is made by Midway. I think it has the original monitor, as none of the wiring or connectors have been hacked. I've read of other dedicated KI2 machines coming with the 25K2193 monitor, but mine has the P538 main board, which makes it a 25k7xxx.

Page 3-3 of that same manual is a schematic of the AC power wiring. It does not have an isolation transformer.

I've never seen this game before, but quite likely it would have been shipped with a U-2000 monitor which does not use an isloation transformer. Somebody probably swapped monitors in your game at one time.

The k7000 definitely needs isolation and why someone would put one in this cabinet is a mystery.

Ken,

You are a wise man. I have a manual here for a U2000 and had no clue where it came from. It most likely came with the KI2 machine.

Is there a reason I should not use my K7000 once I get it back from Chad? (With iso, of course).

Thank you very much, Ken. You are an asset to this board in a big way.

Do you think this thing is an iso transformer?

It was in a Daytona USA machine....with Nanao monitor which does NOT use an iso...

It has 4 wires on input, and 8 on output.

I wired it up and found a combination that gives 120 in and 120 out.

Does that mean it's an iso?

If you have 120 coming in on one side, and 120 coming out on the other side, then it's probably an iso. You could pull up a Daytona USA manual to see if they have a schematic that shows the inputs and outputs of that transformer.

Or you could save time and effort and order an iso from Bob Roberts while you're waiting for your chassis to return...
