I just cracked open my Killer Instinct 2, and noticed that it has NO ISO transformer!!!

The sticker on the monitor chassis says an iso must be used. Why isn't there one in there, and why was it still working without one?

Do I want to buy one, or just let it how it is now, since it seems to be doing fine without one.

I have an iso transformer from a Nanao that is 120V out. Will that work? My W/G shows it uses 120V.

There's a guy on BYOAC that has a Killer Instinct 2 without an ISO as well. I wonder if they were shipped that way or something. Of course his monitor doesn't work anymore.

lol

.......

Will my Nanao iso transformer work? It's 120V.

I just did some quick checking, and it seems that no one with a KI2 machine has an iso transformer. Why did they ship like that? I am just going to continue to use mine without. Any harm?

Are you sure it is a standard K7000? It might not actually need an iso if it is a newer monitor. That is the only reason I could see for it working. Remember - the standard K7000 is an older monitor, some newer monitors were released in the K7000 series (such as the K75XX) that are not standard K7000 monitors.

It's a K7000 with the P538 chassis board. Big sticker on the AC input plug that says MUST USE ISO TRANSFORMER.

Any clue how to wire it?

I have inputs:

Black/white
Black
White
Green

How do I wire the iso?

Are all four of those in the same connector? Green is ground, black and white are the two you want to interrupt with the iso. What is the black/white?

Just measure the AC voltage between two of the wires (probably black and white) to find your 110-120vac and connect those to the input of the iso. Then attach two more wires to the output and run them to your monitor. Simple...

This is the INPUT side of the ISO transformer. 4 wires.

Dude, your fourth pic is an iso...

I think you and I are one two different planets. I'm not nearly on the same level as you gents, but I know what an ISO transformer looks like.

Let me go back over some of the facts from earlier in this thread.

I have a Killer Instinct 2 dedicated cabinet with NO ISO TRANSFORMER.

I have a WG K7000 Monitor inside it, the original monitor.

I have read online that other KI2 cabinets came with that monitor, and no iso.

The ISO pictured is from a Nanao monitor, I think from a Daytona USA machine.

The ISO pictured has 4 wires on the input side, and 8 on the output.

Sorry about that, When you mentioned the 4 pin connector I was thinking about the monitor chassis, not the iso. You need to apply power to the white and black input wires and, using a meter check the output wires on the other side. Some combination of the output wires should measure approximately 120VAC. These will be your iso input and output. If, for some reason you are unable to get 120VAC on the output side you then need to shift input power to a different combination of the black/white and either black or white and retest the output wires.
