Yes it's actually the first thing I connected to the chassis. I clearly remember seating it all the way to the bottom ( the yoke connector not the yoke itselfYes, is the yoke connected?
Ring it out?Go ahead and ring out the yoke while you have it disconnected. It is possible that the yoke is shorted or even open.
Ring it out?
Thanks this gives me a lot of things to check for. The chassis looked pretty clean and the resistors didn't look like they cooked the board or anything but you never know...he means ohm it with a meter to make sure its open..
fyi inslect the yoke connector as they will melt sometimes..
also check the yoke connector pins on the chassis itself..
those can develop cracked solder joints..
also check all the large resistors in that area...
r98-r101 develop cracked solder/burnt traces...
unsolder them all and look at the traces, then resolder..
Cool I'll check the yoke to see if it's shorted.Sorry, thats a term we use locally for checking cables. Just check the resistance of each of the two circuits. The blue/red should be one circuit and yellow/green should be the other. Meter set to read ohms (around 20 ohms if the meter is manual), one lead on each color as shown above.
