I just picked up a Maximum Force it has a WG k7000 25" monitor it looks ok no overlapping or roll. The colors just looked washed out or not very vivid. From what I read while searching the forums I need to cap it. Just wondering if I should do anything else why I have it all pulled apart.

Thanks

flyback if it has any cracks in it or if it has white knobs.. check for cooked/cracked solder joiunts, check the fuse holder- somtimes the fingers get cracked/weak

before all that, tey to adjust your color gains and cutoffs, you might be able to adjust it nice.

dont forget to also clean the face of th tube and the bezel glass, that usually makes a big difference as well.

Ya I cleaned the black dust off. I will Adjust the the Gains and cut offs and see if that helps. Also check the flyback.

Thank you

OK played with gain and cut off anything i do to make it more vivid causes the colors to smear to the right. So moved it all back to its dim looking self. Also if I increase the contrast same things colors smear to the right. All in all the pictures is not bad just dim and washed out

Sounds like you pix tube is reaching the end of it's life, rejuvenating it may help it for a while.

Crap I was afraid of that. So I guess I will start looking for a replacement tube. I think I'm still going to recap it might as well if i am going to have it taken apart.
