Picked up a Atari Space Duel about a month ago, Just got around to messing with it today for the first time. Powered it up and heard a loud " CRACK " from the picture tube area, sounded like a circuit breaker tripping. My first thought was bad flyback, but after about 30 seconds of looking around I found that the neck of the tube has a crack in it in a place I did not see when I looked at it before buying ( or it got cracked in my shop, and thats possible ). Now this being my first Color Vector Monitor I have a question, Is this tube a breed of it's own or is a tube swap even possible from a conventional monitor? It is a Wells Gardner K6100 with an RCA 19VLUP22 tube. This machine is an easy 9 out of 10 condition ( except the tube ) and I hate to do anything to it other than fix it but if this is a hard to find tube ( or complete monitor ) I'm stuck with a oversized noise maker. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated

Vectors are indeed proprietary. Tubes are scarce but supposedly Ramcontrols.com is having new tubes made. When it will actually happen it's anyones guess.
You can check with eldoradogames.com and see if those turds have any left.

19VLUP22 Tube

The tube is hard to replace because it has a 100 degree (vs. the common 90 degree) deflection. I believe the same tube is used in the G08s.

If you use a 90 degree tube with a 100 degree yoke, you won't be able to get it to converge.

You may be able to have a 100 degree color tube regunned as a 19VLUP22 if you call around.

i too have a space duel but mine needs a new tube aswell the monitor works gets picture an everything but it has some small problems, i would keep an eye out on the for sale section here and keep an eye on ebay, just type 6100 XY in ebay and once in a blue moon one will show up, but goodluck :)
