Installed a 4900 cap kit on this monitor (as many as would swap correctly) and went from a dot in the center of the monitor, to a solid line vertically down it's screen.

Any suggestions on how to get this thing filling up the screen? Start replacing caps that didn't translate over from 4900 kit?

No, I'll give that a try. Should I look at the actual connector pins? Or the surrounding components? Or both?

Both... but the pins are the usual culprit.

Also check caps leading to it but if you installed one of those backwards it should've gone off like a firecracker. ;)

Reflowed the yoke pins, then reflowed ALL connector pins. Everything looked good before, but figured what the heck...

Reflowed traces leading to the header pins, and all width coil joints.

Then putting everything back together to trace, I noticed the female pins on the yoke plug connector were coming out about 1/8" or so, so I shoved them in with a small screwdriver and VIOLA!!!

That pic is of a fully functional Monaco GP now! woot woot! thanks guys!

WOOHOO!!!

Ya gotta love bringing stuff back from the dead. :)

whoa, careful there. Are you qualifying this resurrected monitor as some sort of electronic zombie? I'd hate to smash it so soon after repairing it!
