I have the above monitor in a pacman game and I am having troubles with the Red color. If I play with the Red pot next to the Screen pot I can turn the whole screen red, but the red Ghost never turns red. All I can see are his eyes running around the maze. I took a look at both the Red and Blue varistors on the other side of the neck board. Both of them have the back two legs rusted off. Only the middle leg of each of them are connected.

If I take off the neck board and replace the two broken varistors, will this fix my problem? Or do I have a bigger problem somewhere else and I just don't know?

There are no "Varistors" on a WG4600 series monitor or chassis at all.

Now if you are talking about the color pots, yes most likely that may fix your problem.

Weird, the schematics I am looking at for the K4600 say that VR401 and VR402 are 500 Ohm Varistors. Now that I looked up what a varistor is, that is not what is on my board :)

Anyway, the parts list says that VR401 and VR402 are 500 Ohm Varistors. Since they aren't, do I replace them with 500 Ohm pots?
