I have a 4600 that I capped. Looks like there is not a good connection where C622 goes on the chassis (positive lead), the pad is gone!

I am wanting to know if I can jumper the positive leg of that cap to bypass...

Any ideas? I'll be trying to find the schematics. :p

Yes. The pad is missing but is the trace that the pad was connected to still there? Follow that trace back to another pad and connect it there. If there is no trace to follow then use the manual to find another component on the same line and connect it there.

That's what I thought.

I was looking at it and 609 is on the same trace (looking at the chassis and schematics) and my confusion was which pad to jumper it to.

So what you're saying is that it doen't matter?

609 is a resistor and was'nt sure if I should put it on the band side or not.

It does matter. Only one leg of R609 will be on the same trace. The other leg will be on a different trace. You need to jumper to the leg that is on the same trace as the cap.

that's what I need help with! :D

I am unable to 100% guarantee looking at the chassis. Maybe I am just over analyzing this...

OK, I pulled up the manual. The component you called 609, is this the one labeled as X609 in the manual? If so then this is a diode, not a resistor. Are yo ucertain that you can not simply follow the trace from the missing pad to another component?

You are correct...diode.

Looking at the pics I posted, I cannot see the trace. This chassis is different to me. The red top with the white paint dots sort of show it, underneath, I do not see a definative marking.

A slightly better angled picture of the area in question would have cleared this up in about two minutes. ;)

(not that the chassis I pulled is the cleanest example to use)

That big empty square patch is on the same trace right next to the positive leg of C622 in question.
