I have 2 of these, first one needs a new flyback but I couldn't find a seller and second one works fine but after some time will turn off.

For the second one it checks out good when working but when it shuts off the the B+ is over 160V. So what should I check from there? Could it be the HOT transistor or a cap failing after warming up? This one is in a Wizard of Wor that has been on location since new.

Has either been rebuilt lately? Failing flybacks are very rare on these.

As for the shutdown after running a while - sounds like a cold solder joint somewhere if the caps are new...

As far as I know they have not been rebuilt. I know the flyback is toast on the one cause smoke was pooring out of Galaxian and black goo was dripping from it.

I'll take a better look at the traces and re-heat them on the other one. Nothing looks replaced to me on this chassis.

Ok I took the second one apart again and reheated any joints that looked funny or was a connector. With no success.

Also found out I was looking at a flowchart for the wrong WG. Does anybody have a link to one because I cant find one.

recap if it hasnt been. if all the caps are grey then they are orignal and should be replaced. not saying they cant be another color but I never seen them any other color.

Well now that I have followed the correct flow chart I have replaced transistors that are mentioned and did a cap kit. Also swaping xy board from the Galaxian monitor. All with the only thing changed now is it is still reading +160v and no picture at all.

I am still working on these because if I don't fix them they get to meet the dumpster.

Now on WoW where it should be reading 130v it is reading +375v. I figure this is a bit out of range of just adjusting the B+ pot. Also the AC input is 127v, is that to much?

I wish I could just swap in a G07.

please dont toss in dumpster, I wil take them.

Well I just rechecked the voltages and now its at 170v. It hasn't been touched since I last checked the voltages.

I also swapped audio/power boards with the regulator to no avail.

I think I accidently left the meter on AC when I measured cause doing that gave me the 375v again.

I found diode X609 to have a voltage drop when reverse biased in circuit. But have not taken out yet.
