I have a time pilot with a WG k4600 monitor in it. I did a cap kit on it from Ian Kellogg and the colors are great and it solved a bit of screen curling/wave I had on the right edge.

However it still has an annoying flicker to it that was there prior to the cap kit. The screen seems to flicker as if the sync is off every so often, especially bad when it is cold and just turned on. Happens without any movement on the cabinet.

Any ideas what it could be? Bad pots? Header pins?

sounds like a cold solder joint to me, probably on a header pin but I don't know for sure
when it warms up and expands, it works a little better than when its cold and smaller

classic cold solder joint problem but that's where I would start

you might want to post this in the monitor section where you will get more "hits"

good luck
