I've got a 13k7801 monitor in a countertop machine.

There is some gaussing on one of the lower corners of the tube thatI can't get rid of.
I'm pretty sure that the degauss coil isn't working, so I would like to repair it,
but I'm not sure what I should do.

What would I need to do or replace to get it working again?

you can follow the degauss coil to the chassis PCB. check the wiring if it might be shorted to something. look for where it might have rubbed through.
check the underside, after you've discharged the tube, and see if you have a cold solder joint on the 2 header pins there where it attaches to the chassis.
you can OHM the coil and see if it has shorted but i dont know what that value should be if its ok. if its shorted you will see a 00.00 or 00.01 value. if its ok you might see a 00.06 - 00.09 or there abouts or even higher.

im guessing its probably ok as they dont go bad too often. you can try buying/borrowing a degaussing coil and do it yourself. the monitor frame could be magnetized in that location in which case none of the above will help for the exception of the degaussing coil might help you there.

any external objects near the monitor there like a speaker or a house electrical circuit?

There aren't any external factors causing the discoloration that I am aware of.
I can't remove the discoloration with either a manual deguass coil, or a magnet
due to the way that the cabinet is constructed.

The chassis and tube aren't mounted to a single frame, or else I'd remove it
from the cabinet, then deguass it.

I guess I'll remove the chassis from the cabinet and check for cut traces
and bad solder joints.

Edit:

After some reading, I realize that the solution to my problem may be simpler than I first thought.
