I recently landed a d9500 monitor.

I've read that wiring the video cable is kind of tricky. That they came with video wiring for hooking up.

I want to test it on cga/ega/vga. Assuming NFL Blitz for cga/ega and atomiswave for vga, anything special for wiring up the video signals?

I came across this thread and wondered what was wired wrong that a VGA cable would heat up:

Thanks!

Am I worried about nothing?

Did a new D9500 come with special video adapter cables that I might have to reproduce?

your VGA cable should be doing nothing more than provide a a low voltage / current to the monitor board. The monitor board is designed to accept that input signal feed and does not output anything on the cable. Either your monitor board went or something with your pc / computer video card that its now probably feeding a power rail down the line. Whichever is the at fault either way its rare and unheard of. The way the input and output of those circuits are designed even allowing that current to flow seems odd. something was either grossly hooked up incorrectly or what i mentioned above..

I do sell the d9500 19" complete board sets brand new for $65.00 shipped on my website for self checkout if you want to try a chassis replacement rout.
