I have a question for the monitor guru's out there. I recently picked up a non-working Space Duel cab with a WG 6100 XY monitor in it. It has some terrible screen burn, probably the worst I have seen. Granted I have not worked on a vector game before so I don't know how bad the burn in can get before it affects the display.

That said, my brother has a 19" tube with zero burn in sitting in his shop that he pulled from a Pole Position cab he got for free. It is just the tube, yoke and convergence rings. I attached a picture below of the pinout. Here are the numbers that are on the tube, there are two sets. An Orion sticker with numbers and a sticker with 'WG' on it.

Can anybody identify the tube and know if it would be compatible with the WG 6100 chassis? I know it is a shot in the dark, but i thought I would ask.

The Pole position is 8 pin, whereas the WG6100 is 12 pin.

Sorry, not gonna work :(

Also the WG6100 has a 100 degree deflection angle, and the other is probably 90, so not correct there either :(

WG6100's are pretty unique. I think the G08's (Star trek etc) are compatible, but the yoke needs to be transplanted from the WG6100 to the new tube.
Some 19" zenith TV's tubes apparently are 100 degree too

I would get it working as-is, put on the smoked glass and see how it looks before doing anything else.

It is getting harder to find these monitors....

Show me a 6100 with no burn.. Luckily they dont look as bad with burn, compared to rasters. Show us a pic. Id be interested in the tube if you ditch it, as long as it doesnt have a big hole in the center. Interestingly G08s dont seem to have this problem...Probably because they didnt last long enough..lol..

Heres a 6100 with zero burn...

Ya, that would be awesome to have.

Here is a pic of my monitor. No hole in the center so that is good. We will see how it looks if I ever get the thing running. This is after it was cleaned off. It had 30 years of dust on it when I took the glass out.

Rebuild chassis and rejuv tube and it will look awesome. Dont forget Atari vectors have the smoked glass that hides alot of the burn

I obviously don't have the means to rejuvenate the tube. Should there be somebody locally that can do that and is it very expensive?

Also, what does rejuvenating do exactly? I tried researching it a bit but couldn't find a good explanation.

The smoked glass does help a lot as the burn is nearly impossible to see unless you shine a light through the glass, I just didn't know how it affected the vector image.

Rejuvinating the tube cleans the poisons (crud) built up on the ends of the 3 guns Red,Green,Blue checking the condition of the guns is what I always do first. If the guns are weak then I clean them, but only if they are weak.

Put in the first tube model. The 6100 uses a 19VLUP22. Click it when it comes up. Type in the second tube model, 48JLL40X. In the list = compatible; not in the list = not compatible.

Note that this does not know anything about deflection angles, and does not take yoke compatibility into account.
